"I think the most important quality of our products is expressed by the maxim, "First Do No Harm" - I do not want to bathe Dylan in anything that can make him ill. We were using shampoos from the Vet Clinic that were ostensibly "hypoallergenic" but Dylan was still itchy, red and uncomfortable, almost immediately after his bath. We tried diet changes, we tried medications, but the only thing that I can truthfully say cured Dylan of his dermatitis was the de Botanica Sensitive Skin Shampoo. Immediately he stopped itching, and has had no problems since we switched to de Botanica.

Also, he was needing a shampoo once a week to not smell - even then he did - and he was itching immediately after a shampoo. Now Dylan can go a whole month without a shampoo and still stay fresh, and he never itches. I am absolutely convinced his problem was the chemicals in the shampoo.

We love our animal companions, and yes, we want them to smell great, look great, be fluffier, etc. But most importantly we want them to Feel Great - not be itchy and uncomfortable. The de Botanica Shampoo is also very concentrated: a little bit goes a long way, so ultimately it is not costlier than other products. We still have the bottle we started with after several months. Before, we were going through 1/3 bottle of the other shampoo with each bath. Actually, Dylan’s coat is fluffier and fuller since using de Botanica."
